The Country Representative, Jolly Phonics, Mrs. Kemi Adebajo, has urged the federal, state and local governments to ensure sound primary and secondary education to stem the country's falling standard of public education.

According to her, government should evolve methods and strategies that will improve learning especially at the primary and secondary education as foundational levels of education.

She said. 'The adoption of phonics method of teaching will improve the quality of education. Government should encourage this method to boost education.

'Jolly Phonics is synthetic phonics way of using sounds to teach children how to read and write. It is different from current practice and helps children to read and write easily. Before you had to memorise and cram but now you don't need that any longer. Right now, you can use jolly phonics which uses sounds.

Children should be well taught especially at the foundation level and using jolly phoenix from the basic will greatly improve standard of education.

The Managing Director, Jolly Learning, United Kingdom, Mr. Chris Jolly, said it required hard work to improve on the standard of education, adding that Nigeria has both the human and material resources to upgrade education sector.
