AHRC Calls For An Arms Embargo Against Israel:
The American Human Rights Council (AHRC-USA) condemns the ongoing Israeli violence against the Palestinians in the occupied territories. We especially condemn the ongoing genocide in Gaza. Every day there are more massacres. Every day is a day that Israel starves the Palestinians as a weapon of war. This must end and the only way it will end is with American pressure on Israel. Enough Palestinian body bags.
Massacres perpetrated by Israel against the Palestinians have become daily news. There is no regard for Palestinian lives. This suffering is not incidental to war. This is calculated and premeditated.
These ongoing war crimes are live- streamed around the clock. Due to US intervention on behalf of Israel, the world has been unable to stop the Israeli killing machine. The Israelis are doing the killing and destruction using American weapons. Just recently the State department approved twenty billion dollars in weapons sales to Israel. Weapons continue to flow to Israel, fueling the carnage. This must stop. It is against American law and American values to support Israel when it is engaging in a genocide and using food as a weapon.
Words of empathy from politicians are nice but action is what is needed. AHRC calls upon the Biden administration, the Harris campaign and Trump campaign to call for an immediate ceasefire. A permanent ceasefire is in the best interest of everyone. The hostages would be released, humanitarian aid would enter Gaza unimpeded, and rebuilding would start. Also, American taxpayers who have been funding the war by sending money and weapons, along with the immense expense of redeployment of military assets, would save money.
The US is spending money it does not have. The US is thirty-five trillion dollars in debt. This endless war is costing America billions of dollars with no end in sight. America is literally a full partner in this war with the most right-wing Israeli government. Despite the support, Netanyahu has been lying about his true intentions. President Biden himself said Netanyahu has been “bullshitting him.” Netanyahu has no respect for President Biden call for a ceasefire. Netanyahu does not want one.
Israel is ignoring the entire world including the US. While Hamas has taken a few Israelis hostage, Israel has taken the entire world hostage to its endless war. Israel has been fighting an open- ended war with no day-after plan. The only way to end this horrible war is to stop sending weapons.
