Presidency Spends N20Million To Decorate 300-Capacity Hall For Event

Public payment portal, Govspend, has revealed that the Nigerian Presidency spent N19.98 million for the "full-scale decoration of Sheraton Hotel for a 300-capacity event."

It was learnt that the payment of the N19.98 million was made to Rock of Ages Total Events Limited on July 5, 2024.

However, the specific event hosted by the Presidency that required this decoration expense remains unclear.

The government incurred an additional expense of N57.8 million for catering services provided during the Presidential dinner anniversary on June 12th, with the payment made to Regal Limited on July 5th.

This expenditure is linked to the Democracy Day celebration held at the State Banquet Hall in the Presidential Villa, where the Presidency hosted a dinner event.

The State House has faced criticism for paying N19.98 million into the personal account of Adi Cynthia Ada on July 13, 2024, for the replacement of "worn-out entertainment" items.

This transaction has raised concerns as it contradicts the Tinubu administration's professed dedication to transparency and accountability, particularly regarding the use of public funds.
