BAUCHI GUBERNATORIAL ASPIRANT ALLEGES ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT

Alhaji Sarki, who spoke with journalists yesterday said, 'The gun men stormed my residence and told my security men and aides that they had come to kill me, but I wasn't around. So they shot one of my security men to death and shot my younger brother in the leg. Ten days after that incident, they went to my company's staff quarters and attacked four expatriates working for the company. They also asked of me, after robbing them of their belongings. We reported to the police and they are currently investigating the matter'. He however maintained that the attacks or attempts to kill him would not deter him from his aspiration for the governorship of the state.

'It has encouraged me to struggle and win the election in order to provide good governance for my people,' he added.

Adamu, who said he would not accuse anyone of being behind the attacks since the police were investigating the matter however said, 'Whoever wants to kill me should just come and kill me. They should stop attacking innocent people because of me'.

Meanwhile, Bauchi State Police Commissioner Danlami Yar'adua has described the incident as robbery, adding that the police were doing their best to arrest the culprits.
