NPC DENIES ENDORSING JONATHAN

A statement by the party's National Chairman and Secretary, Barrister Suleiman Ahmad Akasawua and Mr. Sam Ukwadiamo, respectively, said it was only at the party's convention that candidates could be elected or endorsed.

'We are yet to hold our national convention, therefore we are yet to adopt anyone as our candidate for next year's election.  The party therefore wishes to dissociate itself from the purported report,'' the statement said.

The NPC added that it was premature to adopt President Jonathan as a candidate as he was yet to declare his intention to contest the election.

The party also advised the president and the public to beware of some persons who were parading themselves as leaders of the NPC, saying they were not members of the party.
