AHRC Extends Eid Al Adha Greetings, Welcomes the Unity Outdoor Eid Prayer for Gaza:
The American Human Rights Council (AHRC-USA) extends to all Muslims wishes for a safe, blessed, and peaceful Eid Al Adha “Feast of the Sacrifice” that falls on Sunday, June 16, 2024.
The Eid coincides with Father’s Day in America this year. AHRC wishes all fathers a pleasant day.
Eid Al Adha is the second major Muslim Holiday in the Muslim lunar calendar. It marks the end of the annual pilgrimage season (Hajj) to Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
This year, Eid Al Adha falls amidst the ongoing Israeli genocidal war against the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. Despite the immense pain, huge casualties and the unprecedented war crimes, Muslims are determined to observe the occasion and related traditions.
AHRC welcomes the collective Eid Al Adha outdoor prayer that will be held on Sunday June 16 at 8:30 a.m. in front of Dearborn's Ford Community and Performing Arts Center. This collective prayer is in solidarity with Gaza and in support of a permanent ceasefire as well as peace and justice in Palestine.
“The whole world condemns the genocide in Gaza,” said Imad Hamad, AHRC Executive Director. “Our community’s Unity prayer is a message to Gaza and to the rest of the world that we stand united against the genocide,” added Hamad.
