APC Announces N25Million As Price For Local Council Election Forms

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced that its expression of interest form is N5million while nomination form is N20million for the upcoming local government election in Ebonyi State.

The party made this known in a statement issued by its Ebonyi State Chairman, Stanley Okoro Emegha and Secretary, Charles Chukwuma Ofoke.

This comes as the Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission (EBSIEC) fixed July 20, 2024 for the conduct of the local government election across the 13 local government areas in the state.

The APC also set up a five-man zoning committee after its stakeholders meeting held on Sunday.

According to the party, Senator Obinna Ogba, former senator who represented Ebonyi Central Senatorial District will serve as chairman of the committee while Austin Umahi, Minister of Works, former Governor Dave Umahi’s brother is the secretary of the committee.

Also in the committee are; Sunday lnyima, Prince Atta Uka Ude and Mrs Nora Oluchi Alo.

The statement noted that, “Consequently, they (committee members) are informed that their work starts immediately. They are given three days from 13th May, 2024 to conclude the assignment and submit their report to the party on Friday, 17 May, 2024.”

According to the APC, expression of interest form for councillorship is N50,000 while the nomination form is N150,000.

The statement added that the party has made the expression of interest forms free for female aspirants and male aspirants who are below 39 years, adding that the male aspirants are to present evidence of age declaration from any court of law.
