*I'm sure you folks would have been wondering if Segun Arinze has actually released his much talked about music album in June as he promised. Well, Searchlight cannot really dwell on the issue right now due to some reasons, but one thing is certain, Segun is aiming to take the music industry by storm. Let's keep our fingers crossed and see what impact his music will make in the keenly competitive industry. After all, we've heard from Genevieve, Omotola, Lilian Bach and Nkem Owoh. You know what Searchlight is talking about?

*Chinedu Ikedieze of the Aki and Pawpaw fame really caused a stir during their visit to a bank in Ogba area of Lagos during the week. Aki, who had come to sort out one or two things at the customer care department of the bank, had his share of what stardom is when all other customers left their queues to catch a glimpse of him.
He was obviously the ''Mr. President' throughout his stay there.

* Award-winning movie producer and director, Dickson Iroegbo, is still in a joyful mood since his wife was delivered of a bouncing baby boy two weeks ago. The dreadlocked dude is so excited that he tells whoever cares to know about the development. He was 'caught-in-the-act' over the weekend in Surulere sharing the good news with his friends. Mr. Iroegbu, we thank you for increasing the country's population.

* Something big is about to happen in the Yoruba movie industry. A group of dynamic gurus are currently planning to stage the Yoruba Movies Achievers Award. The award, Searchlight gathered, will come up sometime in November. Apart from that, the organisers will also publish an encyclopaedia about Nollywood and profiles of its well recognised personalities.

* Following the recent controversial sale of the National Arts Theatre in Iganmu to private owners, thousands of Nigerian artistes went on a protest yesterday. The protest march, Searchlight gathered, started at about 10 am from the Theatre's Entrance 'C'.

*It is a good thing to see mulatto actor, Ramsey Noah, back to his groovy times after his close shave with death during a motorbike accident last year. Though it is no longer news that he is now hale and hearty, Searchlight is just particularly happy to see him coming back to Ojez Restaurant and Bar, where he usually hangs out.
