Remi Babalola Denies Resigning From Cabinet

ABUJA, August 30, (THEWILL) - The Minister for Special Duties, Mr. Remi Babalola has denied resigning from his position as minister.


The refutal is sequel to reports credited to PM News, a local evening tabloid in Lagos that he has resigned.


Speaking through his Special Assistant on Media and Communication, Yinka Akintunde, Babalola said the entire report was false and he is saddened by the wrong impression created by the report.


"Mr. Babalola has not resigned. He is on vacation approved by Mr. President," the Special Assistant said.


The former Minister of State, Finance was moved to Special Duties in a minor cabinet shake-up by President Goodluck Jonathan, a few weeks ago. He was given presidential approval afterwards, to proceed on vacation and is yet to resume at his new posting.
