AHRC Wishes All Christians A Happy Easter:
The American Human rights Council (AHRC-USA) extends its best wishes to Christians who are celebrating Easter this weekend. AHRC wishes them all a safe, pleasant, and blessed holiday.
This year’s Easter is bittersweet for Palestinian Christians in Gaza and the West Bank. They have been facing non-stop Israeli violence of different forms and intensity. The city of Bethlehem, birth city of Jesus Christ is full of sadness, sorrow, and grief.
It is important to note that Christians have two Easters. Catholics and Protestants celebrate Easter in March, the Orthodox Christians celebrate Easter in May.
“Unlike with natural disasters, the suffering from political violence is largely preventable,” said Imad Hamad, AHRC Executive Director. “Let’s hope and pray for peace and future holidays not spoiled by violence and sadness,” added Hamad. “Political problems require political solutions,” concluded.
