Abuja To Establish Sister City Relation With Lusaka

ABUJA, August 25, (THEWILL) - The FCT Administration will soon establish a Sister City relation with Lusaka, the capital of Zambia, as well as other world cities.


FCT Minister, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed made this disclosure on Wednesday, when the Zambian High Commissioner, Mr. Alexis Cadman Luhila paid him a courtesy visit.


The Minister said that such relationship would afford the managers of such cities the opportunity to share ideas, experiences and expertise on metropolitan management especially on the issues of infrastructural development and environment cleanliness.


Senator Mohammed assured members of the diplomatic community living in Abuja of commitment of the FCT Administration to provide them with effective security.


He promised that the FCT Administration would continue to support them especially in the development of their various missions in the Federal Capital Territory.


The Minister however accepted an invitation to visit Lusaka before the end of the year.


Speaking earlier, the High Commissioner of the Republic of Zambia to Nigeria, Mr. Alexis Cadman Luhila appreciated the warm reception accorded him and commended the Minister for the peace and tranquility prevailing in the Federal Capital Territory.


He described Abuja as a peaceful city that has a lot of success story to tell other developing great cities of the world and thus invited Senator Mohammed to pay a visit to Lusaka.
