High Expectations As Valentine Ozigbo Pledges To Restore Lost Glory Of Anambra State
Former Transcorp group CEO and governorship candidate, Valentine Chineto Ozigbo has resolve his vision to restore the glory of Anambra state to enviable heights.
The erudite business mogul made this known during a party stakeholders meeting held on Wednesday, 10th of January in the state capital territory.
In his remarks, Ozigbo said restoring and redeeming the good image of Anambra state is paramount to the prosperity of the South East region and the Nigerian society.
He, however, called the attention of the state government to restrain from it's recent attacks on traditional rulers and focus on legacy driven projects.
His words: "Respect traditional institutions. They are the necessary foundations of our traditional values and culture,"
The special adviser to Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Mr Peter Obi, appraised the efforts of the participants and Anambra South zone of the Labour Party. He emphasized the need to work with one another in unity and progress, " Ndi Anambra especially Anambra South zone should learn to work in unity and display a high level of social and emotional intelligence. This will strengthen the pillars of the party and ensure victory in upcoming polls ahead."
Also speaking at the occasion, the convener, Hon. Paul Obu, Member, representing Orumba North State Constituency said the objectives of the meeting was to consolidate all Anambra South partisans of the Labour Party to work with one mind, create effective support groups and spread the message of hope to Nigerians.
Another speaker, Justin lgbodika, Chairman, lhiala LGA said the unity in Anambra South has been estanlished. He called formcomolete participation of interest groups to spedtrack the process.
Supporting, Amaka Ofojebe said the grassroots is ready for Labour Party and advised everyone to work hard to ensure landstride victory at all political levels.
The stakeholders read a communique and resolved on issues affecting the state and the party which includes the Anambra State Government treatment with disdain, disrepute, and disregard of the state traditional institution as exemplified in the selective, unceremonious, and unwarranted suspension of Igwe Damian Ezeani,
unbridled abuse of power by Prof. Soludo when he publicly and embarrassingly adjudged that Rev Fr. Emmanuel Obimma, aka Ebube Muonso breached the Burial Law of Anambra State during the burial obsequies of his mother, Ezinne Grace Obimma, a cry for help for urgent, proactive and result-oriented approach on security rather than the untoward propaganda, the Principle of Zoning of the Governorship Seat of the state is maintained in the forthcoming 2025 Anambra and a solemn agreement that the LP candidate SHALL serve for one term of 4 years, after which the post goes to the next zone.
On his part, the Anambra state chairman, Labour Party, Hon. Ugochukwu Umeh said the meeting was conclusive and paramount to consolidate unity and resources needed to champion victory at the next polls. He appealed to party faithful to exercise hope and integrity and reconcile differences among all chieftains and members of the party.
In his closing remarks, Hon Paul Obu reminded participants to be actively involved in the community and wards, " go and register in your various wards, he stated.
He also called on the government to conduct local government polls to ensure effective representation of the people interests.
His words, "2025 is a historic moment to watch out for. It is a time to reshape and rebrand a new phase of Anambra state."
The meeting had stakeholders and members of the party, professionals, business men and women, community leaders, market leaders and traditional rulers in attendance.
