jOS, August 19, (THEWILL) - A man who tried to dupe the Plateau State Governor, Jonah David Jang and his family of huge sums of money has been arrested by operatives of the State Security Service (SSS) in Plateau State.


Director of SSS in Plateau State, Alhaji Tijani Talba told newsmen that the suspect, Mr. Vincent Bulus was arrested as he approached members of the family of the governor claiming he was working for the service and tried to obtain money from them to kill an investigation on them.


He said members of the public should be wary of unscrupulous elements in the society who go about claiming to be with the service to dupe individuals.

The suspect who chatted briefly with THEWILL at the SSS office admitted that he committed the crime.


He said he met the governor's daughter (who was not named) and told her that he wanted her to be involved with him romantically.


Mr. Bulus said he further informed the lady that he could help her father out of the political problem he is having if the father could make some funds available for the project. She gave him N250, 000 naira and promised to make more available much later.


Bulus was arrested when he went to pick up another N800, 000 from the Ms. Jang.
