James Ibori
Embattled fugitive, James Ibori is down with hypertension in far away Dubai where is currently battling moves by the British police to extradite him to London to face money laundering charges. He was hospitalized two weeks ago.

Although EFCC boss, Farida Waziri, hinted last week that Ibori was ill, she however did not specify what was medically wrong with the former Delta State Governor.

She had said “ Ibori is in hospital in Dubai, but the process for his extradition is going on. We are working and exchanging information with MET “

Sources told Pointblanknews.com that Ibori who has a history of high blood pressure and is on medication, had some complications two weeks ago.

According to our source, shortly after his bail was revoked, and his application for asylum ran into troubled waters, Ibori went into depression.

Pointblanknews.com source also hinted that Ibori's present health condition may have slowed down the extradition process which is likely to happen anytime .

Said our source “ he is still down with hypertension, and we don't know when he will be okay. Ofcourse this will slow down the move to take him to London but eventually and very soon, he will face the music in London”

Ibori's defence had employed all tactics in a bid to convince the Dubai authorities that the move to extradite him was not done in good faith. But the bid by the Ibori team failed.

The EFCC, and the office of the Attorney General could not oppose Ibori's assylum move in Dubai because Nigeria does not have Mutual Legal Assistance (MLA) with the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The Case against Ibori in London got a boost when his sister Christine Ibie-Ibori and his mistress, Udoamaka Okonkwo, were convicted in London.
