Presidency denies Gusau's resignation

Huhuonline can reliably report that  the purported resignation of Aliyu Gusau, national security adviser (NSA), to the president, is false.A national daily  had reported that the NSA tendered his resignation about a month ago and that President Goodluck Jonathan was yet to accept his resignation.

A senior presidency source told Huhuonline that Gusau'is still at his desk performing his duties as NSA to Mr. President'

'Gusau has not resigned and there was never anytime the man threw in the towel as been speculated by the report,' the Presidency source said.

The report claimed that President Jonathan was ready to appoint  Kayode Are, deputy to Gusau as the new NSA should Gusau refuses to rescind his decision.

President Jonathan 'is very unhappy with such falsehood' the source told Huhuonline.

'The report is not in any way enough to unsettle the President who is focused on touching lives within the short period available to this administration" the source added.

The source told Huhuonline 'the author of the story and the daily were only been mischievous with the report.'

President Jonathan appointed Gusau as NSA to succeed Sarki Muktar, on March 8, 2010.
