By Raymond Ozoji, Awka

Former Governor of Anambra state and presidential candidate of the Labour party in the immediate past presidential election, Mr. Peter Obi has personally taken the responsibility of carrying out last minutes campaigns for all LP House of Assembly candidates in Anambra state.

Obi who stormed St. Martins Catholic church field Odata Ihiala on Thursday amidst cheering crowds who trooped out in their thousands to welcome him, told the people of Ihiala that he came to appreciate them and to show profound gratitude for the support they gave him at the presidential election.

He therefore thanked the people of Ihiala for voting massively for him and equally appealed to the people to extend the same affection to LP House of Assembly candidates for Ihiala constituency one and two, urging them to come out on March 18th and prove to Nigerians that they can repeat what they did on 25 February, this year. Obi also assured Ndi-Ihiala that they have not laboured in vain because he is in court already to prove that Ndi-Ihiala and Nigerians voted for Labour party and they won the presidential election.

With inexplicable joy and happiness in the faces of the mammoth crowd, they all chorused that it is Eluu Pee all the way. That they would make no mistakes when casting their ballots on March 18th.

An indigene of Eziani village in Ihiala town, Mr. Samuel Nnaemeka Nwokedi, who spoke with our correspondent, said the reception given to Peter Obi by the people, showed that Ihiala and indeed Anambra state have settled for Labour party come March 18th, 2023.

Nwokedi who pointed out that Labour party has penetrated the nooks and crannies of Ihiala local government area, maintained that the Labour party candidate for Ihiala 1 state constituency election, Hon. Chibuzor Udekigbo has endeared himself to the people through his proactive responses to the needs and yearnings of Ndi-Ihiala.

He said the response to Peter Obi's visit to Ihiala was a confirmation as well as an eloquent testimony that indeed Nigerians are vehemently clamouring for an institutional change that will address the needs of the common man.

That there is no gainsaying the fact that Anambra citizens and Nigerians have settled for Labour party from top to bottom. He said from what transpired at St. Martins Catholic Church field Odata on Thursday 16th March, Labour party candidates will win the two constituency seats in Ihiala local government area.
