Punish Emiefele As Scapegoat

By Citizens Advocacy for Social & Economic Rights (CASER)

Are we so unmindful of the malevolence of the Buhari-Emiefele led monetary policy of cash confiscation and the unnecessary hardships Nigerians are presently facing?

We have again been reminded of how easy it is for a government to carelessly bring its population to its knees and put it in a state of helplessness thereby instigating acts of national security concerns.

Our immediate recommendation to the president-elect upon his swearing-in, is to sack the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emiefele, arrest him and probe him for abuse of office, for his active frustration of a judgment order of the Supreme Court aimed at mitigating the suffering of Nigerians occasioned by the failed implementation of the demonetization policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

Whereas, President Buhari should take responsibility for this aspect of maladministration that has taken a huge toll on the wellbeing of Nigerians, disrupted their social stability and threatened the survival of their businesses, Emiefele, in actual fact as CBN Governor should be used as a scapegoat for supervising such widespread imposition of misery upon Nigerians in the name of a monetary policy.

The Citizens Advocacy for Social & Economic Rights (CASER) is working and compiling a Register of Pains & Deaths (RPD) caused by the negligent and incompetent implementation of the demonetization policy of the CBN.

We recommend to everyone to read the hereto attached article by Dr Muda Yusuf for a dispassionate understanding on how incompetent the CBN has been in the conception and implementation of the policy. In fact we are wont to believe that the CBN is working against national interest.
