Projects: Ebonyi Constituents Insist On 3rd Tenure For Their Representative, Igariwey.

Constituents of Afikpo North and South Federal Constituency of Ebonyi State has insisted on third tenure for their representative, Chief Iduma Enwo Igariwey.

Igariwey, Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Appropriations is of the People's Democratic Party, and has represented the people for two consecutive tenures.

The people made known their position Saturday during the commissioning of litany of developmental projects executed by the representative across the constituency.

Among the projects commissioned were roads, bridges, and completed ultra modern Civic and Community arbitration complexes in Amasiri and Amata Akpoha communities of Afikpo North local government area.

The magnificent buildings which were handed over to the "Esaa" Traditional Council/age grade of the two Communities, has a motorized borehole with over-head tanks as well as other facilities and equipments for users comfort.

The buildings are meant to serve both as town hall and traditional arbitration Centres for the beneficiary communities.

The accompanying motorized borehole will also serve as a source of water for the people.

Baring their minds at the event, prominent members of the constituency explained that their insistence on Igariwey's return to the Green Chambers was hinged on his grassroots oriented programmes and projects, as well as his other good leadership qualities which they observed, were very rare among present day politicians.

Among those who spoke to newsmen, including Akpoha Community leaders, Michael Ogbonnaya Orji and Chief Philip Igwe-Ele ; Apostle Idam Godwin Elekwa, Linda Iduma and a youth leader of Amasiri Community, Caleb Nnaemeka Omaka, expressed satisfaction with the projects.

They commended Igariwey for his dedication and commitment to the wellbeing of his constituents, assuring him of the people's resolve to return him in the forthcoming general elections.

Michael Ogbonnaya Orji said: "Since the origin of this our community, and since people have been going to the House of Representatives, none has thought it wise to raise up a building like this.

"Generations to come will continue to savour the benefits of this building."

Igwe-Ele added: "We are going to reciprocate this by voting for him enmasse."

Also, describing Igariwey as a peace loving person, the youth leader, Omaka added: "He has been bringing a lot of dividends of democracy to our people, and we love him."

Igariwey, while addressing the people, said he understood the challenges of his people and would stop at nothing in making lives more meaningful for them.

He promised to provide for the Civic Centres Power generating sets within a week, and assured the people of Amasiri of street lights, market stalls and a boost to security through provision of Motorcycles to the leaders of the youths and the vigilante group in the communities.

The representative further solicited for the people's votes to enable him attract doubled dividends to the constituency in his next tenure.

He maintained that experience at the National Assembly is an advantage in attracting projects and sponsoring bills with direct positive impact on the people.

He said: "These things you see me do today are made possible by you because you took me there in the first place.

"I want to assure you, my people, that with the experience and connections I have garnered, it is going to be an opportunity to impact more lives positively through empowerment, infrastructural development across the constituency as well other legislative efforts through bills and motion with direct bearing on our people."

Highlight of the event was the conferment of a Chieftaincy title of "Ome Nke ahuru Anya 1" of Amasiri, meaning: "The Man of tangible results" on the lawmaker in appreciation of his quality representation.
