JOS, August 01, (THEWILL) - Alhaji Muhammadu Rilwanu Suleyman Adamu, has been turbanned as the new Emir of Bauchi.


The turbanning of the 40 year old, followed his selection by the kingmakers in the emirate and the endorsement of the selection by the Bauchi State Governor, Mallam Isa Yuguda.


The new Emir is one the three sons of the immediate past Emir who had indicated interest in succeeding their father.


He was presented with a letter of appointment, and a Sword, Knife, Holy Qur’an, bow and arrow and the royal garment.


With the turbanning, Alahji Rilwanu Adamu becomes the 11th Emir of Bauchi.


The ceremony held at the Emir’s palace in Bauchi was presided over by the most senior Member of the emirate council Alhaji Ahmed Abubakar.


The state governor Mallam Isa Yuguda was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Ahmed Ibrahim Dandija.


Yuguda, who spoke through the SSG, said the selection process was fair and transparent.


He explained that the King makers selected three names amongst the contestants and forwarded it to him for approval.


The governor advised the new Emir to carry all along and work diligently for the development of Bauchi State and Nigeria. He called on the other contestants to cooperate with the new emir.
