The Nigerian Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, has been sentenced to three months in prison by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.

The IGP was sentenced in a ruling delivered on Tuesday for disobeying an order which had earlier been given by a court.

Justice Mobolaji Olajuwon, the presiding judge, following a suit filed by Patrick Okoli, a former police officer who claims he was unlawfully and compulsorily retired from the Nigerian police force made the pronouncement.
