The Court of Appeal siting in Abuja has ruled against the judgement of a Federal High Court nullifying Honourable Oladipupo Adebutu’s nomination as the Ogun State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The Appeal Court in its ruling on Friday, set aside an earlier judgement of the Federal High Court.

A three-member panel of the Appeal Court on Friday faulted Justice Taiwo Taiwo of the Federal High Court, Abuja (now retired) for declining jurisdiction to hear the a suit filed by Jimi Adebisi Lawal.

Mr Lawal had challenged PDP’s utilisation of a delegates’ list against the list of delegates who were elected at the ward congresses for the conduct of the May 25, 2022, governorship primary election.

Justice Biobele Georgewill consequently ruled that the Federal High Court has jurisdiction over the case as it is pre-election related.

The court also ordered remitting the case to the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court for the hearing of the case on merit.
