As the nation marks it's 62nd Independence Day Anniversary, a Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Comrade Edwin Uhara has congratulated Nigerians, saying the best is yet to come for the nation.

In a statement released to newsmen in Abuja to mark the event, Uhara said Nigeria is still the apple of God's eyes despite pockets of challenges here and there.

Noting that every nation has it's own peculiar challenge which requires peculiar solution because one size does not fit all when it comes to proffering democratic solutions to leadership questions.

He however urged Nigerians to believe in the future as well as strengthen their faith in the unity and progress of the country.

The party Chieftain who was full of praises for the resilient spirit shown by Nigerians; especially during the virulent period of Covid-19 and the economic recession noted that God did not make mistake when He allowed us to be one indivisible nation under His watch.

He also urged Nigerians to use the opportunity presented by next year's general elections to prove our democratic maturity to the world by running a disciplined and issue-based campaigns without resorting to violence or any act capable of jeopardizing the entire process.

The party stalwart however called on Nigerians to show more supports for the Buhari administration in order to enable him complete the many laudable and legacy projects, policies and programmes started by his government which Nigerians will surely remember and miss him in years to come.

Uhara however advised politicians to eschew politics of bitterness and hatred and to always consider the interest of the nation first before any other interests because Nigeria will always win in any contest.

His words: "Politicians should remember that there would still be elections after 2023 and should not suffocate the glue that hold us together as a nation nor destroy our bond of affection because they want to emerge victorious next year."

In all, the UN-trained Negotiator urged political parties and their candidates to always be guided by the pledge they made in the recitation of our 'National Pledge' especially the last paragraph which says "To defend her unity and uphold her honour and glory, so help me God."

Happy Independence Day Anniversary fellow compatriots!

Signed:
His Youthfulness,
Comrade Edwin Uhara,
APC Chieftain and UN-trained Negotiator
