The Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), Fidet Okhiria, has disclosed that four members of staff working for the corporation are currently being held in the captive of their attackers.

The Managing Director, who noted that the workers are still in the captivity of the terrorists six months after attack was unleashed on the Abuja-Kaduna railway, listed the staff as the loco driver, the train lightning technician and two others.

Okhria further stated that some persons working on the train on third-party arrangements were also still being held.

He, however, reiterated that the federal government was doing everything possible to rescue the workers from the terrorists' den.

He also disclosed that NRC had not commenced operations on the Abuja-Kaduna route because the corporation believes that proper security arrangements should be put in place.

He added that the government had set up a committee to find a lasting solution to ensure security was appropriately maintained.
