Anambra State Assembly Majority Leader Suddenly Dies In South Africa

The Majority leader of Anambra House of Assembly, Nnamdi Okafor, has reportedly slumped and died in his hotel room on Tuesday in South Africa.

The lawmaker who was representing Awka 1 State Constituency, was said to have gone to the country on a retreat with other members of the state assembly.

As at the time of filing this report, no official statement from the assembly has been released.

Details of Nnamdi Okafor’s death are sketchy as nobody has confirmed whether he was ill before the trip, or suddenly took ill there.

The lawmaker was first elected in 2015 and was reeIected in 2019.
