Lawmakers Threaten To Remove The Senate President If He Delays Buhari's impeachment

Members of the upper chamber of the National Assembly have resolved to sack the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, if he retards Buhari's impeachment.

This was contained on assertion by Fadahunsi's, the senator representing Osun on Wednesday, during an interview with journalists in Abuja.

In fact, to hasten the process, the lawmaker disclosed that majority of the Senators have passed a vote of no confidence on the president on the account of his failure and incompetence of his administration.

Fadahunsi's revealed the Senate president's reluctance in handling the impeachment process. This consequently prompted their plan to sack him. He said Lawan . His statement read

“We have been talking and giving suggestions on how we could end the insecurity challenges facing the country but the Head (Senate President) is hooked to the Villa. He has been frustrating all our moves to take drastic measures against the President"

According to to the federal lawmaker, majority of the senators across political party lines have already passed a vote of no confidence on Buhari because of his administration’s inability to address the worsening security situation in the country. He expressed doubts about the president’s ability to tackle the security challenges currently facing the country in six weeks since he couldn’t do so for seven years.

Fadahunsi vowed that the impeachment proceedings would commence as soon as his colleagues resume.
