Ebonyi Federal Lawmaker Pays Over N3.5m Bill For Indigent Patients In Alex Ekwueme Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki

Member representing Ezza South/Ikwo Federal Constituency, Hon Chinedu Ogah has paid the sum of N3.5 million to offset the hospital bill of some indigent patients who couldn't pay for their treatment in Alex Ekwueme Federal Teaching Hospital Abakaliki, Ebonyi state.

Hon Ogah who made the payment at the Alex Ekwueme federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki said the gesture was part of activities lined up for the celebration of his 46th birthday anniversary

He promised to use his good office to attract several interventions with facilities and medical equipment to the hospital thereby enabling the citizenry to access quality health care at affordable rate.

He toured all the residential quarters of the downtrodden, reaching the sick and the poor ones by giving them succour and message of hope with several gifts and items .

The Federal Lawmaker, who was accompanied by his massive admirers and supporters, visited the centre of the menial job seekers, popularly known as Okpoku-Ndu-Oru, opposite Pa Ngele Oruta township, Abakaliki, where he distributed food, cash and other gifts to them.

He also visited Old People's Home, Orphanage Home in Abakaliki town, and Alex Ekwueme Federal Teaching, Abakaliki where he doled millions of naira with different items to the indigent patients to clear their hospital bills, before proceeding

Other places visited by the Federal Lawmaker are Abakaliki and Afikpo Correctional Centres where he doled out items and gifts worth thousands of naira and message of hope to the inmates.

Recall that Ogah has rolled out a six-day program to mark his birthday anniversary this year, pointers among them, are to empower his constituents and commission some of his newly executed projects within his constituency.

Interacting with journalists, some of the beneficiaries including Cecilia Igwe, Chinedu Nwibo and Ngozi Mbam, among others applauded Ogah's magnanimous life, especially this year, people in their different homes have been lamenting harsh experiences coming after the risen cost of the food commodities in the state.

They described Ogah as the friend of the underprivileged people, who has used his office to touch humanity in mega styles.

"This has been the normal life of Comrade Chinedu Ogah since he assumed office as a lawmaker at the National Assembly, even when he served as the National President of Ebonyi youths under former Governor Martins Elechi's Administration," a digger, Mr Chinedu Nwibo said.

It was gathered that other lined-up activities in preparation for the birthday anniversary included free dispensing of PMS (Fuel) by commercial motor drivers, tricycle operators, motorcyclists (Okada riders) and breakfast by the lawmaker with them in Abakaliki and Ohatekwe Primary School Field, Ikwo LGA on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.

These lined up activities, were prior to the grand finale of the birth anniversary and would be followed by the inauguration of the constituency projects, empowerment of the constituents, and distribution of the constituents, among others.
