JOS, July 19, (THEWILL) - Traders in Bukuru market in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau state today dragged the Jos South Local Government Chairman, Moses Dalyop to court to stop him from relocating the Market from its present site.

The Jos South Local Government Chairman has since last January's crisis served the traders with a notice that the market which was burnt down during the crisis will not be reconstructed but relocated to another pace.

Counsel to the traders Barrister Ahmed Garba in the suit insisted that the traders cannot be relocated without following due process more so, as they were not involved in the decision to relocate the market.

The counsel said his clients suffered over a billion naira losses as a result of the fire that gutted down the market stressing that they deserve to be given a fair hearing if any decision is going to be taken in respect of the market.

The traders want the court to declare as unconstitutional, illegal, null and void and of no effect the plan to relocate the market and for the court to stop the Chairman and his council from discussing or taking any decision to relocate the traders from the present location pending the determination of the substantive suit.
