Terrorism: Atiku Faults Bad Leadership as Reason Behind Insecurity

By Damilare Adeleye

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has described irresponsible governance as the catalyst behind the insecurity bewildering the country.

The Presidential aspirant of Peoples Democratic Party in the forthcoming 2023 election also noted that the failure to maintain unity as a nation is a major reason behind the constant attacks being witnessed in the country.

Atiku Abubarkar said this in a statement posted on his verified Facebook page, monitored by The Nigerian Voice correspondent.

While urging Nigerians to come together to combat various vices threatening the country, he expressed his profound condolences to the families of those who have lost their loved ones to different terrorist attacks.

In his words: “Divison is why these attacks continue to occur - we are a divided nation. This is because there is no experienced leadership that unites us as a One People. No experienced leadership that provides One's Future. No experienced leadership that unites us as One Country. This bloodletting is a crime before God and man. A crime of division and not unity. We cannot reverse this ugly trend if we remain in the same cycle of divisiveness. When we come together in unity, our collective strength can never be challenged. As one, we can get it done.

I offer my deepest condolences to the families of those who may have lost a dear one. May they be comforted, and may the souls of those killed rest in peace.”
