JOS, July 18, (THEWILL) - The Civil liberties organization, CLO, has "vehemently" condemned the attack on Mazah village near Jos, in which seven persons were killed.

The CLO in a statement by its president, Titus Mann said the recent attack and the frequency it happened in the recent past tend to suggest there is a new and deliberately chosen approach to spread destruction, death and terror in Plateau State.

"Even as these attacks mount, it is dismaying that, the Plateau State Government and the security forces, particularly the Nigeria Army who have since taken responsibility for the security of the state, seem deeply divided on what needs to be done to stem the tide of these attacks and, return peace back to Jos and its environs."

The CLO urged the federal and state governments, to reappraise the security situation in Plateau in light of the new pattern of attacks, with a view to taking more vigorous and effective measures to stem it.

At least seven persons were killed while several others were injured in the attack on Mazah village in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
