Ebonyi Law Maker To Apc: Get Ready With Your Baggage To Leave In 2023.
An Ebonyi State lawmaker, Chief Chris Usulor has advised the Ruling All Progressive Congress Party in Nigeria to get ready its baggage to leave the State House in 2023.
The Law maker who said that only rigging may save the APC, maintained that the opposition Peoples Democratic Party was set to takeover power at both the Presidency and in Ebonyi State.
Usulor made the statement on Sunday while speaking with journalists in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital.
The third term member of Ebonyi State house of assembly, representing Ezza South State constituency, and a Governorship aspirant in the State, further maintained that all Nigerians, from the present trend of things in the Country were yearning for the PDP.
Usulor said:"In Nigeria as a whole, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP is set to takeover the leadership of the country.
"If you look at what is happening now, you know the positioning of PDP as it regards the quest to takeover the Presidency.
"If you look at the country, you see that everybody is yearning for a change; everybody is expecting PDP to takeover the leadership of the country.
"In Ebonyi state, citizens do not know any other thing than the Peoples Democratic Party.
"It has been institutionalized in the state.
"PDP is in the mouth of every woman, boy, girl and children in Ebonyi state.
"It is almost a tradition in the state, and so, I don't think that any other party can take the mantle of leadership of the state from PDP.
"The All Progressive Congress, APC, that are at the helm of affairs is just on a temporary basis.
"Unless they rig PDP out from the forthcoming elections, but if it is on a free and fair election, PDP will win in every Local Government area of the state."
On his governorship ambition, the former Senator's son revealed that over eighty percent of the members of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, in the state were ready to defect to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in support of his mission.
claiming to be more experienced than other aspirants in the state, Usulor called on his supporters to maintain peaceful disposition without shying away from challenges.
"And so, we will come up with a peaceful disposition towards regaining power and in doing that, we will preach to Ebonyians to still stand by PDP.
"We are not going to plan rigging; we are not going to cause violence but that doesn't mean that if we are pushed to the wall, we will just run away like that.
"We will keep playing the game according to the dictates of the law.
"I'm going to be the next governor of Ebonyi state, and I'm going to achieve that through mass mobilization, sensitization, campaigning and lobbying" he said.
The Ezza born politician and PDP chieftain also spoke on power rotation in the State, insisting that an Ezza person of the Central district of the State should be given a deserved opportunity to become the State Governor, come 2023.
The PDP chieftain further insisted that, it is the turn of Ebonyi Central senatorial zone, Ezza in particular, to produce the next governor of Ebonyi state.
"The clamouring everywhere is that, other clans should allow Ezza Clan which is the eldest son of Ezekuna and the eldest clan in Ebonyi State to rule." Usulor asserted.
