"Let nobody be afraid of Nigerian president of Igbo extraction",Umahi tells Nigerians.
Ebonyi state Governor, Chief David Umahi has urged other ethnic regions to stop fearing Nigerian President of Igbo extraction in that any Igbo man who becomes President will work for the unity of the country as Igbo's have investment in every part of the country.
Governor Umahi made this known in a meeting in Abakaliki where he briefed APC members on the outcome of the meeting he had with President Muhammad Buhari on his intention to run for president.
He maintained that the insinuations that president of Igbo extraction will divide the country is not true because one does not set fire in his own house.
The Governor stated that Ebonyi as a state will not join Biafra, adding that they are better off in fair and equitable Nigeria.
He promised to fight corruption to a standstill if he becomes the President of Nigeria as there can be no meaningful development where there are corrupt practices and that the economic indices going down can never come up in the atmosphere of corruption.
He also promised to replicate what he did in Ebonyi state in Nigeria at large, stressing that the kind of King David University built in Ebonyi can be built one in every region and with such people can no longer travel outside the country for medical treatment.
Umahi described his ambitious to occupy the coveted seat of the President as the answer the nation Nigeria is waiting for and urged his teeming supporters to allow God fight the battle and give them victory.
He called the people of the Southeast to desist from using hate speeches in that if not for the grace of God, the people in the region would have been crushed and commended Mr President for receiving Elder Mbazulyike Amechi who approached the president for political solution to the problems in the Southeast.
"Anyone that wants to cause insecurity in the Southeast must be crushed. If not for the grace of God, Southeast would have been crushed.
" Let nobody be afraid of Nigerian president of Igbo extraction. Any Igbo man who becomes a president will work for the unity of the country because we have investment in every part of the country.
"We are better in fair and equitable Nigeria. We will not join Biafra. We cannot divide the country because no body sets fire in his own house.
" I will fight corruption to a standstill. There can never be a meaningful development where there is corrupt practices and the economic indices going down can never come up in the atmosphere of corruption.
