Transparency Nigeria Group Demands The Immediate Dismissal Of Wemabank Chief Executive Ademola Ademise
The Transparency Nigeria Group asks the Central Bank of Nigeria to immediately dismiss Mr Ademola Ademise, the chief executive of Wema Bank PLC, a tier-3 lender quoted on the NGX.
The TNG believes that Mr Ademise has grossly abused his office as the chief executive officer of Wema Bank PLC and contravened several extant regulations of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Under Mr Adebise's watch, Wema Bank covered up a massive fraudulent scheme perpetrated by companies and proxies of the All Progressives' Congress presidential candidate Ahmed Bola Tinubu.
In doing this, Mr Adebise failed in his fiduciary duties and allowed a powerful politician to use Wema Bank as a clearing house for laundered funds.
