The killed younger brother of Omoyele Soworoe, the publisher of Sahara Reorters by suspected herdsmen/kidnappers, Olajide Sowore, will be buried this Thursday.

However, the deceased’s elder brother and Publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Soworoe, is lamenting a subsisting 2019 court order that forbids him leaving the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, and would prevent him from paying Olajide the last respect.

Olajide, younger brother of the Publisher of Sahara Reporters and #RevolutionNow Movement Founder, Omoyele Sowore, was shot dead at Okada area of Benin-Lagos expressway by gunmen suspected to be herdsmen.

According to a statement issued by his elder brother, on Monday, Olajide’ body will be buried in their country home, Kiribo, in Ese-Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State from 10am.

Sowore lamented his potential absence from his brother’s burial due to what he termed “the despicable Muhammadu Buhari regime,” which he said, had since December 2019 restricted him to Abuja by a court order issued by Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu.

His statement reads: “Nigerian Government and its agencies hasn’t done anything to investigate the murder of my brother, Jide Sowore

“Again, I thank you all for reaching out with great love and kind words of consolation, support and solidarity over the tragic, but still unexplained death of my dearest brother, Felix Olajide Sowore.

“I send you loads of gratitude from the bottom of my heart and that of my entire family.

“We should report to the public that despite the noise from Nigerian government officials promising to ‘apprehend’ my brother’s killers, we are not aware any security agency/ies carrying out rescue operations to free those purportedly abducted or investigating the identity of Jide’s murderers.

“It is not as though we expect anything from the failed Nigerian system that took our brother’s life, I feel that I owe you all an update on these matters.

“My dearest brother and childhood friend, Olajide Sowore, will be buried on Thursday 9th of September 2021 at our hometown, Kiribo in Ese-Odo local government area of ondo state start from 10 AM.

“I won’t be able to attend because the despicable Muhammadu Buhari regime has since December 2019 restricted by a court order issued by Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu to Abuja.”

THEWILL recalls that Omoyele Sowore, an activist and Convener of the Coalition for Revolution (CORE), had been undergoing court trials over #RevolutionNow nationwide protests organised by CORE.aiaai
