PDP hails Rt. Hon. Anayo Edwin-Nwonu for Quality Representation and Commitment to Party Ideology.
The Peoples Democratic Party, Ezza North Local Government Area chapter in Ebonyi State has given words of undiluted appreciation to the Chairman of House of Representatives' Committee on Reformatory Institutions and member representing Ezza North/Ishielu Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Anayo Edwin-Nwonu. In a well-attended general meeting of Ezza North chapter of PDP held in Ezza North Local Government Area on Saturday, 21st August, 2021, the stakeholders of PDP in Ezza North LGA led by a former federal legislator, Ebonyi founding father and, presently, PDP Board of Trustees member, Chief Felix Mgbada, in his speech thanked PDP faithful in Ezza North LGA for keeping faith with the party and poured encomia on Rt. Hon. Anayo Edwin-Nwonu for his quality representation of his constituents, investments in the lives of his people and commitment to the party's ideology.
Speaking further, Chief Mgbada said, "This meeting is necessary for us to rub minds together, appreciate ourselves and our stakeholders for their commitment to the PDP and then plan ahead. I thank our representative at the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Anayo Edwin-Nwonu for his quality representation; for being a source of inspiration to the youths of our constituency; and for the support he has been giving the PDP in Ebonyi State in general and in Ezza North in particular". Chief Mgbada informed the teeming party faithful that, "There are two important exercises before us. These are the INEC voter registration exercise and the PDP e-registration exercise. They are important and this meeting offers us the opportunity to plan how to sensitize our people to fully participate in them". He concluded.
Other PDP stalwarts like the senator who represented Ebonyi Central Senatorial District in the seventh session of the Nigerian Senate, Sen. Barr. Paulinus Igwe Nwagu; the state treasurer of Ebonyi State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party, Hon. Monday Chukwu; the immediate past Secretary to the State Government of Ebonyi State, Dr. Hyginus Nwokwu; and the chairman of Ezza North chapter of Peoples Democratic Party, Hon. Peter Nweke all harped on the importance of the voter registration and the PDP e-registration exercises and charged the people of Ezza North especially those who have not registered before but who have attained the age of franchise not to miss the golden opportunities. Particularly, the PDP executives at different levels from Ezza North LGA led by Hon. Monday Chukwu extolled Rt. Hon. Edwin-Nwonu for solely and consistently supporting the Peoples Democratic Party in Ezza North LGA so well that "party members and executives feel better and more confident than they felt when the governor was in the party".
In his speech, Rt. Hon. Edwin-Nwonu explained that, "Ezza North Local Government Area and the entire Ebonyi State belong to PDP. PDP is going to win all elections from the presidential, governorship to all National and State Assemblies seats in 2023 general elections".
Rt. Hon. Edwin-Nwonu charged the people of Ezza North Local Government Area to ensure that every eligible person registers as member of PDP and as a voter adding that "the voters card is the only weapon through which the plague which All Progressives Congress has become for Nigerians and Ebonyi people can be removed". The federal legislator promised to reward the electoral wards with the highest number of new registrants in both exercises in Ezza North Local Government Area with a prize. Characteristic of Edwin-Nwonu, he donated funds for the welfare of the party faithful in attendance. Hon, Ernest Ede, a party stalwart and business mogul from Umuezoka ward equally supported Edwin-Nwonu's donation with the sum of Fifty Thousand Naira only.
The meeting which had former federal and state legislators, council chairmen, retired permanent secretaries, youth and women leaders as well as all ward, local government and state PDP executives from Ezza North Local Government Area, party stalwarts and representives of the physicallychallenged in attendance ended with prayers and fanfare..
