Jamaica Beat Nigeria At America Summer Series Tournament

Nigeria lost their first match of the America Summer Series tournament against Jamaica 1-0.

The Randy Waldrum's side started the encounter with purpose and intent pinning the Jamaicans to their half and creating chances but they were unable to convert them into goals.

Tochukwu Oluehi kept the Super Falcons in the game after saving a penalty kick from Deneisha Blackwood against the run of play in the first half.

The first half ended goalless as both teams failed to take their chances.

Deneisha Blackwood scored the only goal for the Reggae Girlz just after the restart.

Vivian Ikechukwu's powerful left-foot strike hit the bar as the Super Falcons struggled to find their way back into the game.

Jamaica defended doggedly to earn a vital win.
The likes of Onyinyechi Zogg, Vivian Ikechukwu, Roosa Ariyo, and Oluwatosin Demehin made their debuts for the Super Falcons in the encounter.

Francisca Ordega captained the team in the absence of Asisat Oshoala.

The Super Falcons will have a chance to recover from the loss against Portugal on Sunday before the final match against USA on June 17.
