Ojaja Ii Fc Wins Taiwo Ogunjobi U-17 Football Competition

Ojaja II FC emerged victorious as they were crowned champions of the annual Taiwo Ogunjobi U-17 football competition. The competition which took place in Ilesa, Osun State had various teams selected from the southwest Nigeria but the Ojaja FC was crowned champions after defeating Success FC from Ilesa by two goals to one (2-1) in a fiercely contested match.

As recalled, The Ooni of Ife His Imperial Majesty Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, who formed the football club and academy, made it clear that he is ready to uplift the youth as they are the true leaders of tomorrow, the true leaders the nation need to bring back glorious name of Nigeria (The Giant of Africa) and should be allowed to develop in preparation to bringing back the lost glory in all ramifications especially in the area of sports through grassroots football development and promotion.

Presenting the trophy and awards, The Assistant Technical Director of NFF, Shiji Lagunju laud Ojaja II FC for their outstanding performance and resilience to hold off a possible comeback from Success FC in the dying minutes of the encounter. He also praised and thanked His Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, for his superb efforts in bringing the best out of Nigerian youths by giving everybody a chance to showcase their talent which paid off as seen in this well-organized competition. He said “it is no sugarcoating that this team will shock many if they continue with this development”.

While concluding his speech, Lagunju expressed his satisfaction with individual awards given to the outstanding players at the tournament which have Kolawole Opeyemi from Ojaja II FC emerging as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) and the Highest Goal Scorer with 9 goals while Idowu Joshua was awarded Best Goalkeeper also from Ojaja II FC. He thanked the management of the team for giving direction to the players.
