Lagos Mainland Gets Synthetic Football Pitch, as Jimoh calls for Youth's Cooperation

A member, House of Representatives, Hon. Jide Jimoh has handed over Oko-Baba Playing Field in Lagos Mainland for reconstruction to modern synthetic football pitch. Urging the youths to maintain cooperation for the reconstruction work to be completed.

He said this on Tuesday during the official handing over of the playing field to the federal government contractor for immediate commencement of the construction work.

The facility was facilitated by the lawmaker and would be done by SDGs Presidency for the duration of 12 weeks.

The contractor, Mr Dayo Ariyibi said as quoted after thorough assessment of the site that the construction of the facility would consist a modern synthetic football pitch. “With a mini hall, pavilion, dressing rooms, drainage systems, walkways, water supply facilities, solar streetlight so that a new generation of young people can enjoy and benefit from the facility.

Speaking earlier, Hon. Jide Jimoh who was represented by former lawmaker Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Oladele Adekanye hailed the lawmaker for the effort he had executed for the benefits of his constituents.

“The Youths need to be empowered. And this modern football pitch will help nurture the interest of the youth in sports and unearth talents in the community. This is why Hon. Jide Jimoh facilitated this laudable project to improve sporting activities in the constituency.

He further urged the youths of Lagos Mainland Federal Constituency to support this project and ensure that a high level of maintenance culture is adhered to after the completion of the football pitch.

The Lagos Mainland Local Government Chairman, Hon. Mrs Omolola Essien, APC LGA Party Chairman, Party Leaders, members, youth leaders, women and amongst others were at the occasion.
