Commend Federal, State Governments, Security Agencies

Youths in Borno state rose from a one day summit in Maiduguri weekend demanding for creation of a special development fund outfit from the Federal Government to make funds available to them to tackle poverty, idleness, lack of job/unemployment and boost Productivity and self reliance among the youths in rural and urban areas in the state and county at large.

The youths also commended, President Muhammadu Buhari for tackling some of the issues being faced by the Nigerian teeming youths, especially in the areas of job creation and employment opportunities for the youths.

The youths stated this in a 21-point communique issued at the end of the Borno Youths Summit, held at the Multi Purpose Hall of the Government House, Maiduguri Saturday while appreciating the Federal Government for establishing a new outfit to replace FSARS as a special operational outfit.

The Borno State Commissioner of Youths and Sports, Comrade Saina Buba who read out the Communique said, the youths further called on the Federal and State governments to intensify efforts on women empowerment and an inclusive women participation framework to make them self-reliant.

The summit also commended the military and other security agencies for their sustained efforts in fighting insurgency and called for the provision of adequate security throughout the state, so as to protect the communities that have resettled back to their villages and towns to facilitate their socio economic activities in the local government areas.

The youths also solicited for synergy between all the security agencies in the counter insurgency fight against Boko Haram Insurgents while urging the security agencies to sustain the efforts in the fight against insurgency.

The communique commended the Federal Government for its initiative to resume oil exploration in the Chad Basin Area and urged the Federal government to connect Marte to national grid and complete the Mambila Hydro Electric Power Projects to create employment to the youths and boast the economy of the nation.

The summit acknowledged the maturity exhibited by Borno State youths for not participating in the #EndSARS protests in some parts of the country while commending the role of SARS in the fight against insurgency and crimes in Borno state as well the youths resolution to unanimously uphold the unity and indivisibility of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The communique also commended Governor Zulum, for his untiring efforts in bringing stability to the state through the reconstruction of destroyed communities and youths engagement.

The summit equally urged all the tiers of governments to invest massively on agriculture as a panacea for engaging the teeming youths population in farming and Entreprenuership among others.
