Borno State Emirate Concerned Citizens Forum (BECCF) has called on Governor Babagana Umara Zulum to as a matter of urgency, engage Islamic Scholars/Ulamas to dedicate three (3) days prayers and fasting to end the renewed attacks by Boko Haram insurgents and end insurgency in the state.

The forum also condemned in strong terms the continued attack on Zulum's Convoy and called on the governor to summon an enlarged security meeting involving critical stakeholders in the state to discuss a way forward.

The Chairman of the Forum, Zanna Hassan Boguma stated this at a press briefing with journalists at the NUJ Press Centre Maiduguri on Monday.

The Forum also conveyed it's condolences to the families of the victims, the people and government of the state, and wished a speedy recovery to the injured in all attacks that took place in the state.

"The BECCF strongly condemn the terrorist attacks on our Governor. We convey our sincere condolences to the families of the victims and reiterate the need to call on the federal government to strengthen the security of the nation by providing adequate logistics to fight the terrorists.

"We practically solicit for our Son and the National Security Adviser (NSA) to come down home and assess the level of security escalation and advise President Muhammadu Buhari on actionable point that can lead to the end of the Carnage.

"In as much as we support voluntary relocation of displaced citizens back to their ancestral homes, we urged our gallant soldiers to redouble their effort to justify the confidence reposed in them and clear our communities from terrorists.

"Finally, the Forum observes that governor Zulum is somehow alone in the struggle for restoration of peace in Borno". Boguma said.
