Nigerian Pastor TB Joshua of The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) marked his 57th birthday on Friday June 12th 2020 with a call to love.

“Birthdays are a time to reflect on the memories of yesterday, the joys of today and the dreams of tomorrow,” the cleric began, before thanking ‘Emmanuel TV viewers’ for their love and prayers.

“Many waters cannot quench love,” he continued, poetically describing that love “has feet to move to the needy, hands to help others without expectation, eyes to see misery and want and ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men.”

Joshua, who is known for his extensive humanitarian activities, called on people to use the occasion of his birthday to reach out to the less privileged.

“The only way to have a friend is to be one. Many T.B. Joshuas are orphans. Let us father them. Many T.B. Joshuas are homeless. Let us shelter them. Many T.B. Joshuas are sick. Let us care for them. Many TB Joshuas are lonely. Let us be their companion,” he implored.

“My friends, let the feelings of others matter to us. There are many sick ones, hungry people, widows and orphans in our communities. Let us care for them,” he further admonished, quoting the Scripture in Matthew 25:40.

Joshua concluded with the prayer: “Lord Jesus, as we celebrate according to Your instruction, give us the vision we should have for our lives. Give us the faith and the courage to dream big, in Jesus Christ’s name.”

Supporters of the cleric, who has over four million followers on Facebook and 1.6 million YouTube subscribers, flooded social media with comments and testimonies to celebrate the occasion.

“You represent everything that a true believer ought to be: wise, selfless and thoughtful, always seeing the best in others, displaying the fruits of the Holy Spirit and manifesting the awesome power of God with signs and wonders,” wrote Nigeria’s Former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani Kayode, on Twitter.

“Happy Birthday Prophet TB Joshua. Thank you for everything you have done for us,” wrote Nigerian Super Eagles player Ogenyi Onazi, whose international career was launched after being discovered by the cleric’s grassroots football club.

Nigerian media mogul, Dele Momodu, wrote to his 1.2 million Twitter followers: “Happy birthday to my very dear brother on the occasion of your 57th birthday. Thanks for your unconditional love for me always.”

"As we celebrate your 57th birthday, I remember 10 years ago in 2009 when I was about to die,” recalled Stellah Ebenezer in Tanzania. “I was bleeding from the lungs and vomiting fresh blood. You prayed for me and I was healed instantly,” she wrote on YouTube.

“I was healed from a heart disease through the prayer TB Joshua led on his birthday four years ago,” wrote Temwa Ng'ambi from Zambia. “Every year's birthday is a reminder to me that God is still alive!”

TB Joshua was born into a poverty-stricken home in Arigidi-Akoko in Ondo State, Nigeria but has remarkably risen to become West Africa’s largest tourist attraction, with six out of every ten visitors to Nigeria heading to his church in Ikotun-Egbe.
