Nddc Donates Palliatives To Imo State Government

Imo State Government has received support from the managment of the Niger Delta Development commission in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic in form of food items and medical equipments.

The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Barrister Nnamdi Anyehie, at the instance of the Imo State Governor, received the relief materials and appreciated the kind gesture of the interventionist agency while urging more corporate bodies to emulate them.

The food items donated included;1087 bags of 50kg Rice, 305 bags of Beans, 288 bags of Garri, 95 cans of palm, 1941 Cartons of Indomie.

Medical Items included; ECG Machines-page writer, TC20 Cardiograph Key, APC Smart Digital UPS 5KVA, Infra-red Thermometers, Suction Machine Double Jar, Fluid Warmers, Standard Hospital ICU Bed, Oxygen Cylinder, Oxygen Mask, Infusion Pump, Mobile X-ray (small), Mobile Ultrasonic machines, Mobile Dialysis Machines (small), Artenal blood gas machines, Sanitizers, Trilogy 202 Philips transport ventilator for patients that suffers from moderate to severe respiratory insufficiency, especially in person with lungs problems and infections, Syringe pump, Multi parameter patient monitor, Examination glove, Cotton wool, Plaster, Surgical blade (size 8), Surgical glove (size 7½), PPE , I.V. cannulae 22G Blue ,I.V. cannulae 18G Green, I.V. cannulae 20G Pink, Syringe 5ml, Syringe 10ml, Syringe 2ml, & Blood transfusion sets.

Presenting the items to the state government on Tuesday in Owerri, the NDDC Acting Managing Director, Prof. Kemebradikumo Pondei, said the commission was aware of the socio-economic challenges posed by the pandemic.

Pondei, who was represented by a director, Tony Okanne, explained that that was why the commission has committed funds to assist in the fight against the disease across the region.

He said that the programme fell under the commission’s Emergency Support for Health and Social Programme.
