Huriwa To President Buhari: Listen To Abubakar Umar; He Is God Sent:

Tells President that his sycophantic aides will destroy his legacies:

By Human Rights Writers Association Of Nigeria (HURIWA)

Frontline Civil Rights Advocacy group- HUMAN RIGHTS WRITERS ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA (HURIWA) has tasked President Muhammadu Buhari to listen to the voice of God spoken through the mortal human person of his erstwhile loyalist in the military Retired Colonel Abubakar Dangiwa Umar in which the former military officer asked the President to be the President for all and make his appointments going forward to reflect Federal Character Principle as provided for in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria of 1999 as amended section 14(3).

HURIWA stated that the major crisis of mutual distrust which weighs heavily against national harmony is as a result of cumulative angst generated by the consistent marginalization of most segments of the society by the current administration in the area of allocation of resources and appointments since five years ago that the administration came on board just as the Rights group said the President needs to amend his leadership style in line with the sound and qualitative counselling that was offered on a platter of gold by someone in the person of Colonel Abubakar Dangiwa Umar.

HURIWA lamented that Mr. President has tolerated the reign of unprincipled political urchins and sycophants who are all over the corridors of power and these set of hireling working for the Federal government have not allowed the President to listen to the voice of the people even when the voice of the people is the voice of God.

HURIWA in a media Statement by the National Coordinator Comrade Emmanuel Onwubiko and the National Media Affairs Director Miss Zainab Yusuf said it is imperative that the President who retired as a consummate military General and has had the fortune to serve as the military Head of State and again to have the opportunity of a life time to be elected twice by millions of Nigerians as the democratically elected President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, that President Muhammadu Buhari calls his attack dogs and sycophants to order to stop barking and for the President to take an introspective look at the qualitative and credible body of advice that was offered him by his kinsman and brother Colonel Abubakar Dangiwa Umar.

"We urge the President not to be deceived continuously by the bunch of never -do- wells abd jobbers that are all over the place in the corridors of power but should be guided in wisdom to take the good aspects of the words of wisdom given to him by the retired military officer who has made a remarkable name for himself to be incorruptible and patriotic."

HURIWA quoted Colonel Umar as affirming to President Muhammadu Buhari thus: "I counselled the declared winner, your good self, to use the opportunity of your second term to redeem your pledge of being a leader and president of all Nigerians.

Mr. President, you have often expressed the hope that history will be kind to you. It is within your competence to write that history. But you have less than three years in which to do it. You may wish to note that any authentic history must be devoid of myth. It will be a true, factual rendition of the record of your performance."

HURIWA further reminded the President that his former military colleague was right to say as follows: "And truth be told, Mr. President, there are quite a lot of things that speak to your remarkable accomplishments, not least of which is that for the first time in our democratic history, a sitting President was defeated. That feat was achieved by Muhammadu Buhari. The reason was the public belief of you as a man of integrity."

The former military governor of old Kaduna state also stated in his open letter to the President that: "The corollary to this is that at the expiration of your 8-year tenure in 2023, your achievements will not be measured solely by the physical infrastructure your administration built. An enduring legacy would be based on those intangible things like how much you uplifted the spirit and moral tone of the nation. How well have you secured the nation from ourselves and from external enemies?"

HURIWA recalled that the former military governor of Kaduna State had rightly stated that : "Skewed appointments into the offices of the Federal Government favouring some and frustrating others, shall bring ruin and destruction to this nation."

HURIWA stated that it is factually accurate that going by the texture of appointments into juicy positions of the Federal Government have all been allotted to the nominees of the President from the Moslem North just as the bulk of Christians from the North and Southern Nigeria have been relegated to the background.

The Rights group said the president in his last letter to the National Assembly requesting approval of his government's plan to borrow$27.3 billion but the President excluded South East of Nigeria and Edo from benefiting from the projects that would be executed with the loans just as there is no Igbo military officer heading any of the arms of the Armed forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. "There are over 2000 key appointments that Mr. President has made and the majority of these have been skewed towards favouring the Moslem Northerners from Hausa/Fulani Ethnicity.
