Gov. Uzodimma orders for the arrest of the Owner & Contractors of Collapsed Building in Owerri

An arrest order has been issued against the Owner and contractors of the collapsed 8-storey building by the Imo state governor, Hope Uzodinma.

The Governor who visited the collapsed building at Yar' Adua drive, today commiserated with the families of the dead and the wounded. His Excellency, Gov. Hope Uzodinma further stated that investigations will be conducted and any one found culpable will be brought to book

The Governor expressed shock at the tragic event and sympathised with the victims and ordered for the arrest of the owner and contractors of the building.

Governor Uzodinma said, the contractors flouted the lockdown directive which was an offence punishable by law, in addition to not building according to approval from Owerri capital development authority (OCDA).

He commiserated with the victims and their families, stressing that the state government would put in place machinery to ensure that such tragic events does not reoccur again.
