Nwodo’s Emergency, Panacea for Democratization of PDP – Princewill’s Associates

Political associates of Prince of Niger Delta politics, a group, loyal to the brand, mission and vision of Princewill's political ideals have in one accord backed the emergence of Dr. Okwi Nwodo as the next National Chairman of PDP, preparatory to the party's National Executive Council meeting.

The approval which was made available to journalists in Port Harcourt through Chief Chukwu Emeka Eze, the Media Consultant to Prince Tonye Princewill, said that the tacit endorsement was made in acknowledgement of Nwodo's democratic antecedents, principles and feats as a seasoned Administrator and high ranking politician within the polity, adding it was also expected that he would bring to bear and hopefully to fruition the vision of the founding fathers of PDP as he steers the party to admirable heights.

According to Chief Chukwuemeka Eze, “the sterling record of Nwodo during his single tenure as Governor of the old Enugu State characterized by his grassroots' revolution where most of the villages were linked with quality roads and electricity is yet to be surpassed, maintaining also that as a former National Secretary of the party, he initiated the creation of Foreign Chapters of PDP to augment foreign embassies to talk about the new dawn in Nigeria and to draw Nigerian professionals in Diaspora and lure them back home. He initiated the establishment of National Democratic Institute, which was aimed at expanding and enhancing the training sessions and human resource base for politicians already in office”.

Chief Eze therefore expressed optimism that though the public perception of PDP both at home and overseas was at a low ebb, Nwodo's emergence would prove to be the much sought after panacea that is sine qua non to repositioning PDP in line with the vision of its founding fathers and gave kudos to President Goodluck Jonathan and BOT members for approving his candidature and urged NEC to support him to bring sanity back to the PDP.

While congratulating Nwodo in advance for his confirmation, the group enjoined him to ensure the party becomes a medium for sustainable change in Nigeria.

It would be recalled that Nwodo after a long meritorious service to PDP as National Secretary was unceremoniously hounded out by undemocratic elements.
