Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state has given a marching order to contractors handling road projects across the state to redouble their efforts to meet deadlines.

He also tasked them to increase their workforce in order to meet completion deadlines of projects across the state.

The State Commissioner for Works, Chief James Augoye, gave the directive while inspecting Sector C2 from Ogwashi-Uku to Asaba of the Ughelli/ Asaba Road Dualization project with a total length of 21.267 kilometers.

He frowned at the low workforce of the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) NIg Ltd, handling the project in order to align with the speed drive of the state government to complete it in 18 months.

Augoye disclosed that the Sector C1 of the Ughelli/ Asaba Road Dualization, which details from Ogwashi-Uku to Ossissa, has been approved, adding that the move depicts the state government's commitment to completing the project.

The Area Manager, CCECC, Mr. Wang Wen Long, assured the state government of the project completion within the stipulated 18 months period.
