Leaks reveal that a federal LAWMAKER, Mr. Barry Mpigi in 2017 collected federal money for a project already executed in 2016 by the Tai Local Government.

Mpigi received N50,000,000 for the construction and fencing of Korokoro town hall and installation of solar street light on palace road in Korokoro Tai, which the Tai LGA completed a year before the federal approval of the project.

Some local lawmakers angered by the revelation are furious and on Saturday, February 9, 2019 met executive members of the Indigenous Youth Leadership Council to lend support to a petition over the N400M fraud.

The local lawmakers confirmef the details in the petition that the construction of the Korokoro village town hall was completed by Dr. Jacobson Mbiina in his first term as the chairman of Tai LGA long before 2017.

They further confirmed figures contained in a petition written by the Indigenous Youth Leadership Council that Tai LGA executed the project at estimated cost of between three to four million naira, but Mr. Mpigi pocketed N50M.

They also confirmed another detail in the petition that the Tai LGA erected five solar poles at the palace gate at an estimated cost of N100,000 each.

EFCC already acknowledged the petition involving a number of other projects amounting to over N400M for which Mpigi and Problem now face investigation for economic and financial crimes.
