STOP DISTRACTING OYINLOLA, ODANYE CHIDES AC

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun state, Senator Sunday Fajinmi, has assured the people of the state that they won't be disappointed if they support Akinrogun Tunde Odanye in his bid to become the next governor of the state.

Odanye however chided the Action Congress (AC) over its continued legal challenge against Oyinlola alleging that the AC was trying to distract the governor from real governance.

Fajinmi made these remarks while addressing a large crowd of party members from the 10 local governments that make up of Osun Central senatorial district, who had gathered at Iwo palace ground to endorse the candidacy of Odanye.

'I know him very well. The PDP, through our amiable Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, invited him to join the party because of his forthrightness and dynamism as a politician, so we know him, and we know what he is capable of doing. We have assessed him and we have found him worthy.

He will not disappoint.'
The senator who represented Osun Central as a legislator added, 'we were together in the AD and I know him as a man of high integrity and that was why our leader invited him into the PDP. I can assure you his word is his bond and he will be a good representative.'

When Fajinmi raised Odanye's hand, a Lagos based lawyer and governorship candidate of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) in the 2007 election, the huge crowd roared in a thunderous applause of approval. Odanye, while addressing the gathering in Yoruba, congratulated the Osun people for the victory of Governor Oyinlola at the state Election Petition Tribunal, saying that the governor would now be able to do more for the people of the state now that 'the distraction is over'.

He revealed that it was the realization that Oyinlola was the obvious choice of the people in 2007 that explained why the AD decided not to challenge the victory in court.
