Star rapper, Olusegun Babatunde aka Modenine has just acquired a Nissan Terrano jeep. Gist has it that The hefty rapper only recently took delivery of a jeep, successfully crossing over from the ranks of artistes without vehicles and joining the jeep-owning class. The sport utility vehicle must have cost him between 1.4 and 1.8 million naira even though the rapper would rather not divulge information about what he paid.

Last year Modenine was one of the Nigerian artistes that dominated airplay, especially on MTVbase and Channel O with the video for his song 'Cry'. In
addition, besides P-Square, he was the artiste with the highest number of plaques scoring a 'hat-trick', as he refers to his three awards each at the Hip Hop
World Awards and at the Channel O Spirit Of Africa Music Video Awards. By the end of the year, he was one of the acts called upon by Nigerian Breweries to
perform alongside foreign acts LL Cool J and Akon at the biggest show of the year.

Details about the car are still rather sketchy but a call to the rapper born Olusegun Babatunde confirmed the gist. According to him, he has not put the car on the road yet in order to put all the papers in order and take care of other little details. Sometime in the not-too-distant past, Modey had spoken about his carlessness and the effect it had on his career. “I could easily afford to buy a car (right now). But there are a lot of things I need to put on ground before that. I still hop on the occasional okada.” He had told as many people as cared to listen that he would purchase a 4 wheel drive as soon as he could. Modenine, who may or may not have a problem with Ruggedman depending on who you speak with has over the
years, been heckled by his contemporaries who, even if they recognize his talent and respect him accordingly, have prescribed several remedies for his lack of
breakthrough in the past. But Modey, as the QuestionMark-signed rapper is affectionately called by friends and close associates, stuck to his guns and is
reaping the fruits of his labour.

Modenine joins artistes such as 2Face Idibia who owns a Lincoln Navigator, Nomoreloss who drives a Ford Expedition, Muma Gee (Nissan Infinity), Gino (Mercedes Benz ML) same as Sunny Neji, Weird a Nissan Xterra and P-Square a Nissan Pathfinder.
