Two Remanded In Prison For Amputating Man's Hand

KANO, June 10, (THEWILL) - Magistrate Umma Sani Kurawa has remanded in prison custody, the duo of Isa Shehu and Isiyaku Shehu both residents of Kwanar Gafan village, who were charged before the court as suspected who engaged in criminal conspiracy, voluntarily causing grievous hurt through dangerous means and attempt to kill another person.


The prosecution informed the court that the accused persons intentionally cut off the left hand of Isa Halilu a resident of Yangajiri village in Garun Mallam local government area in Kano State.


The content of the charge sheet on which the accused were arraigned before the court were read out to them in English language, and same translated into Hausa language allowing them plead not guilty to the allegations levied against them.


Prosecutor Haruna Ibrahim prayed the court to adjourn the matter to a new date for mentioning, the court granted his prayer and adjourned the case to 15 June for mentioning, while the accused persons were ordered to remanded in prison custody until the adjourned date.
