Police arrest man with 114 bags of Indian Hemp in Ogun

Men of Ogun State Police Command have arrested a man, Noah Olaore with one Hundred and fourteen (114) bags of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp.

The Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) in the state, ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi told The Nigerian Voice that the suspect was arrested on the 29th of December 2017 in front of M.K.O Abiola stadium Abeokuta.

According to him, "the arrest of the suspect followed an information received by men of Federal Anti Robbery Squad that some hoodlums who are specialized in importing hard drug from Benin Republic into Ogun State are on their way coming."

"Upon the information, a team of FSARS operatives led by Inspector Adeyemi Akeem were detailed to go after the hoodlums and they accosted them in front of M.K.O Abiola stadium where the suspect was arrested with the exhibits."

The PPRO said further investigation led the Police to Igbo-Ora in Oyo State where more bags of the weeds were recovered which made the total bags of Indian hemp recovered to be One hundred and fourteen.

Oyeyemi said the the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered a full scale investigation into the case with the view of arresting other members of the syndicate.
